8th Grade ELA Class Week of October 15-19 What a fun week with irony!!! We started by reading "One Perfect Rose" by Dorothy Parker and then that led to "The Nose Knows" by Dave Barry. We capped off the week by experiencing "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin. Here is what you need to know for the week:

verbal irony is sarcasm
dramatic irony is that you know something the character does not
situational irony is something unexpected happens

By Friday, Oct. 19, you should have turned in your plot structure and questions about the story.

By Monday, Oct. 22, you should turn in your movie/story comparison.
